Top 5 Ways to Get Soda/Pop

For me, soda (or pop as some of you know it) has to be the perfect blend of lots of fizz and little to no sweetness.

5. The 2 Liter Bottle The two liter bottle is the loosest cannon of them all, unless you get the first pour. Once it’s open, it tends to go flat in five minutes? It’s 2011, and I can’t understand why this still happens.

4. The Smaller Plastic Bottle The smaller plastic bottle seems to be much more reliable in terms of fizz because you can usually finish it in one sitting. True story, my fiancee bought a bottle of Coke Zero one night, drank half, and when we tried to drink the rest the next evening, it was flat :(

3. The weird button dispenser most bars have While this does have its benefits, namely your greatest chance to get RC and/or 7Up, it is usually never carbonated enough for me, and bartenders usually don’t put enough ice in the cup for me, either.

2. The Fountain Drink While this generally has the #1 spot in my heart, it, too, is a bit of a loose cannon in terms of carbonation and syrup mix. I have found mom and pop places are usually way too flat and sweet, and also, it’s such a bummer when your favorite flavor runs half way out through the pour and and they have to change the box.

1. The Can I love the mini cans, because it is a much more reasonable portion, but at the end of the day, the can is always the best way to get a soda. It is also the only of the options that I don’t insist on pouring in a glass with ice, as long as it’s ice cold.
