gute Laune

I saw this in Chicago this weekend, and was instantly intrigued. Daniel’s cousin knew quite a bit about the artist, but very little about the significance of the dates. We read the little card next to the picture, and apparently, all the different dates simply represent the date they were made. 
I thought instantly to vacation days in which I lie on the couch or in bed, just staring out the window, napping, internet surfing, etc. Telling myself I’ll get up and do some stupid chore in five minutes, when in reality I know I will probably stay put most of the day. And how at dusk, I start thinking about dinner, and what a waste the day was.
This project continues to strike me as an exercise in staying present, and celebrate nothing more than you got to wake up and live another day. Even if you did just lie on the couch and check your Facebook ten million times. View Larger
